CRYOPRESERVATION / DECONTAMINATION

A facility for the cryostorage of cryopreservation straws containing embryos or semen, and the decontamination and revitalization of SOPF (Specific and Opportunistic Pathogen Free) mice.

Available services

Archiving of lines

Cryopreservation of embryos (at the 2-cell stage) and semen is an ideal solution for building up the safety stock of a line in the event of a problem with your breeding program, or to preserve a strain that is no longer (or rarely) used.

Decontamination of lines

Rederivation through fresh embryos or in vitro fertilization (IVF) makes it possible, starting from contaminated animals, to obtain SOPF individuals (free from pathogens and certain opportunistic microorganisms).

Revitalization of lines

Revitalization is used to obtain transgenic mouse lines from frozen embryos or semen that have been stored in cryopreservation straws.

Cryogenic equipment

A secure cryogenic room, equipped with two Freezal apparatuses (for slow freezing) and six self-loading tanks for storing cryopreservation straws containing embryos and semen.
